Menurut WHO, cacar monyet menyebabkan ruam dan gejala mirip flu.

Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), Hasto Wardoyo, said that the abortion provisions for victims of rape and sexual harassment are meant to maintain their mental health.
The provisions are based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 28 of 2024.
“The law considers pregnancy from rape and sexual harassment as an emergency condition for abortion. That type of pregnancy can lead to schizophrenia or depression that threatens mental health,” he informed on Friday.
He emphasized that Indonesian doctors take a pledge to respect human life, right from conception to the end.
“Doctors have been sworn not to terminate life from conception to the end of life because we are a religious country with a pro-life principle, not pro-choice,” Wardoyo said.
Given that Indonesia adheres to pro-life, he emphasized that abortion can only be carried out in an emergency.
“We may perform an abortion in an emergency, at a certain age. The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) once said 40 days, some others said 120 days. We need a ministerial regulation to determine the age,” he said.
He added that abortion is allowed for rape victims if the prospective mother is in an emergency state.
“For example, if the pregnant mother has a heart disease, she may not survive the pregnancy. Thus, the pregnancy can be terminated for the sake of the mother,” Wardoyo explained.
From a medical perspective, several types of abortion can be performed, including abortion due to medical indications or abortion provocatus medicinalis.
“There is also an abortus provocatus criminalis. This type of pregnancy is not in accordance with medical conditions. Followed by spontaneous abortions and infectious abortion due to infection,” he informed.
Earlier, the government stipulated several provisions for abortion, as laid down in Article 116 of Government Regulation (PP) No. 28 of 2024 concerning Implementing Regulations of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health, which was signed by President Joko Widodo and promulgated by Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno, on July 26, 2024.
Article 118 states that pregnancy due to rape or other crimes of sexual violence that cause pregnancy is proven by several points.
For example, as per point a, a doctor’s certificate regarding the gestational age is required, based on the incident of the crime of rape or other crimes of sexual violence that cause pregnancy.
The National Data Center (PDN) in Cikarang, West Java, is planned to be made operational in 2025, according to the director general of application and informatics at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Hokky Situngkir.
“In general, the (progress of) infrastructure, the design, has increased by several percent from the previous month, and we are continuously evaluating the security, backup, and the design,” he said at the ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta on Friday.
In the initial stage of the PDN’s operations, the ministry will use a managed service scheme, that is, the service will be managed by a third party.
Though it will not directly manage the Cikarang PDN, the ministry will still participate by assisting the third party entrusted with the task of managing the digital infrastructure.
The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) will also be involved in the management of the Cikarang PDN to ensure optimal cybersecurity.
“Since the very beginning, we have been trying to involve BSSN, even in the evaluations of several aspects, they gave notes, recommendations, assessment,” Situngkir informed.
The Cikarang PDN is built using the government-to-government financing scheme, with funding of 164,679,680 euros (approximately US$179.9 million) from the French government.
It will be the first data center to be owned by the government and its presence is expected to integrate the data of ministries and agencies.
Through the system integration, the PDN is projected to improve the governance of public services provided by the government and make them more optimal.
In addition to the Cikarang PDN, the government is also preparing data centers in two locations — Batam, Riau Islands, and Indonesia’s new capital Nusantara in East Kalimantan.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the Pre-Employment Card (PraKerja) Program will continue in the next government led by Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
He made this statement on Friday at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, where he reported on the program’s achievements to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). “I reported about the Pre-Employment program. The achievements are good, and the president also asked it to be included in the 2025 State Budget,” Hartarto remarked.
The government earlier decided to resume the Pre-Employment Card Program in 2024, with a quota of 1.1 million participants, marked by the 63rd batch of registration of participants since February 23.
Each Pre-Employment participant can obtain a total benefit of Rp4.2 million per person, comprising Rp3.5 million for the training fund, Rp600 thousand of incentive, and another Rp100 thousand after filling out the survey.
In 2024, the Pre-Employment program management partners with more training institutions to provide various types of skill training relevant to the job market demand.
The PraKerja program has reached communities in remote and underdeveloped areas and involved training centers in several regions.
The training offers a unique learning, wherein participants learn according to the flow or step-by-step. Although this learning is flexible, it requires commitment from its users.
To improve human resource quality, the government has promoted various programs, including the PraKerja Program.
The program aims to optimize the demographic bonus potential by providing training to the community with a digital end-to-end approach and advocating for public-private partnerships (PPP).
Last year, during Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, which carried the theme “Epicentrum of Growth,” member countries were invited to discuss several issues, one of which was food security.
This issue was raised following global food insecurity that has affected many people due to economic challenges, climate change, geopolitical conflicts, and supply chain disruptions, which have sent food prices soaring.
According to World Food Programme (WFP) data, 309 million people are facing chronic hunger in 71 countries.
In the latest report by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and WFP, there were 18 critical food insecurity hotspots in 17 countries or territories and one regional cluster.
Meanwhile, most ASEAN member countries have extensive agricultural land, but most of their ranks in the 2022 GFSI Food Security Index fell from the highest, 28th, to the lowest, 81st.
Despite Singapore being an island country and one of the smallest countries in the world, it was the ASEAN country with the highest rank on the 2022 Global Food Security Index, placing 28th with an overall score of 73.1.
Among other Southeast Asian countries, Malaysia ranked 41st with a score of 69.9, Vietnam 46th (67.9), Indonesia 63rd (60.2), Thailand 64th (60.1), the Philippines 67th (59.3), Cambodia 78th (55.7), and Laos 81st (53.1).
The index assessed the affordability, availability, quality and safety, as well as sustainability and adaptation of the food sector in 113 countries.
On August 8, 2024, the ASEAN celebrated 57 years of its formation.
When it was established in 1967, it declared the goals of accelerating economic growth, social progress, and cultural development in the region; realizing a prosperous and peaceful community; and promoting collaboration and mutual assistance in all fields, including agriculture, industry, and trade sectors.
Collaboration among the 10 ASEAN States is important to address current issues, such as climate change, which affects food supplies.
At the Special Senior Officials Meeting (SSOM) of the 45th Meeting of ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on August 6, Indonesia urged ASEAN members to take coordinated steps to build regional readiness to anticipate a food crisis.
Apart from other initiatives, Indonesia is promoting the use of local food materials to solidify ASEAN countries’ national food reserves.
The Indonesian Agriculture Ministry’s acting secretary-general, Prihasto Setyanto, detailed that the initiative is meant to follow up on the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Response to Crises, which was adopted during the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta in September last year.
He highlighted that the SSOM has resulted in several agreements on cooperation in food resilience and security, fishery, forestry, and agriculture.
ASEAN countries have also agreed to draft the ASEAN Action Plan for Sustainable Agriculture and the ASEAN Action Plan on Food Security for the 2026–2030 period.
This progress aligned with the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on Food Security, where the document states the importance of sustainable agriculture and food systems to ensure food availability and affordability for all.
ASEAN leaders also called for action to prevent the worsening global food and nutrition security crisis, including the risk and unprecedented shock to agriculture and food systems in the region due to global population growth.
Hence, in mitigating food insecurity, leaders also pressed for reinforcing ASEAN’s crucial role in strengthening multilateral support toward ensuring better food production.
During the ASEAN-Canada Foreign Ministers Meeting in Vientiane, Laos, on July 26, 2024, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi interacted with Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joy during which the former encouraged the strengthening of cooperation in food security between the ASEAN and Canada.
Marsudi stated that food security remains a pressing global and regional challenge. Hence, she stressed the importance of close cooperation between countries to ensure food availability, accessibility, and affordability.
She explained that the cooperation could be implemented by establishing an ASEAN-Canada mechanism to ensure various agricultural needs, such as fertilizers during a crisis, or by cooperating on farming technology to improve the agricultural system’s sustainability and resilience.
Furthermore, at the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation in Tokyo in December 2023, Japan agreed to enhance cooperation with ASEAN in food security by increasing food productivity and supply chain by using technology, supplying fertilizers, and harmonizing agricultural commodity standards.
In addition, last year, at the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF) Leaders Talk, Japan, Australia, and Canada expressed their commitment to strengthening cooperation with and support for ASEAN in various fields, including supply chain resilience.
ASEAN is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing economies, with a growing market and productive population, with over 670 million inhabitants in 2023, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) data.
Hence, ensuring food security in the region is imminent because if not managed well, the impact could be tremendous.
Participants of the procession to transport the Heirloom Red-and-White Flag replica and the Indonesian Independence Proclamation manuscript copy from Jakarta to Indonesia’s new capital Nusantara were thrilled and honored by their role in the event.
According to the Presidential Secretariat statement, the four former personnel of the Heirloom Flag-Raising Troop (Paskibraka) in the procession were Kachina Ozora, Keyla Purnama, Lilly Wenda, and Naila Sinapoy. They were part of Paskibraka’s 2023 batch.
“I am immensely proud and thankful for becoming a part of the procession to transport the Red-and-White Flag from the National Monument (in Jakarta) to Nusantara,” Kachina Ozora, who carried the national flag during the procession, stated.
Ozora, who hailed from Central Kalimantan, felt a huge sense of responsibility while holding the Heirloom Flag on her lap during its transportation from the National Monument to Halim Perdanakusuma Air Field in East Jakarta to Nusantara.
Ozora viewed her role on the day as more than performing in a symbolic procession.
“It shows the commitment from the younger generation to bring Indonesia into a brighter, stronger, and a more united future,” Ozora stated.
Meanwhile, Keyla Purnama of South Sumatra viewed participating in the procession as her greatest achievement as a former member of Paskibraka. She was tasked with the proper handling of the Independence Proclamation Text manuscript copy during the procession.
“My duty also reflects a responsibility to ensure that the spirit of our heroes will continue living and beating in every step of Indonesia’s younger generation,” Purnama remarked.
Lilly Wenda, who represented Highland Papua last year, said she is glad to be the first person to deliver the Heirloom Flag to Indonesia’s new capital. She received the flag from President Joko Widodo during the last Independence Day Flag-Raising Ceremony.
Wenda said that she believed her role reflected the Papua youth as equal to their counterparts in other regions striving to develop Indonesia.
Moreover, Naila Sinapoy highlighted her historical role in the procession, especially as this is the only year the Independence Day ceremony will take place both in Jakarta and Nusantara.
The Heirloom Red-and-White Flag and the Independence Proclamation Text Parade, which involved all elements of society, was a milestone, and reflected Indonesia’s unity and mutual assistance, Presidential Secretariat’s Director of Protocol, Press, and Media Yusuf Permana said.
“What is interesting about this parade is the route. Usually, the route is only from Monas to the Merdeka Palace, but this time, we have created history by doing this parade from Monas to IKN Nusantara,” Permana remarked.
For the first time in history, the heirloom flag duplicate and the proclamation text manuscript copy were paraded from the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan on Saturday.
The parade was part of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence Day celebrations.
It began with the handing over of the two heirloom duplicates in the Monas Kemerdekaan Room to the 2023 Retired Paskibraka (Heritage Flag Force) Team.
Kachina Ozora from Central Kalimantan served as the flag bearer and Keyla Azzahra Purnama from South Sumatra as the proclamation text bearer.
The event involved 180 young people from Jakarta’s Abang-None, or the city’s tourism ambassadors, 122 retired Paskibraka members from Jakarta, and students from the State Institute of Public Administration (IPDN) and state polytechnics.
Local arts and creativity further enlivened the event, creating a strong cultural nuance throughout the parade.
The parade crossed several iconic points in Jakarta, from the Patung Kuda Monument, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Semanggi, to the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base.
After arriving at Balikpapan Airport in East Kalimantan, the entourage carrying the flag and the proclamation was welcomed by the Presidential Security Guard (Paspampres).
The parade was not only a symbolic procession but also a reflection of the national spirit.
Through the parade, Indonesia showed its commitment to advance while still upholding its national values.
